It’s Sunnier in London with the Berends

Mike and Ellis Berend were with us last week for a few days of fun and fellowship.  It was such a treat to be able to hangout and show the Berend’s around london a bit.  (For those of you who don’t know the Berends -Mike and Julie flew to our wedding from Indy and also provided a place for us to go for our honeymoon – in Key Largo!)  Mike was here on a bit of business with some fellow surgeon/researchers up at Oxford.  While in London, we all went and saw the Lion King and Stomp and had a few fantastic meals around Covent Garden.  A major highlight included wandering into The Ivy for one of the best meals I’ve ever had…of course the bottle of Geyserville from Ridge Vineyards in California didn’t hurt things either!  As always it was a bit bittersweet to be so incarnationally reminded of the community we left in Indy.  This picture is from Greenwich which houses the Prime meridian – important for pilots i was told!.  Some of the best views of London and Canary Wharf can be seen from here.

  3. Hey, guys! I haven’t checked in in a while. Miss you! I have a picture to send…Ellie discovered the sunglasses you gave her the other day and loves them, so has been wearing them a lot. “Mommy, I want my glasses.” she’ll say. And, when she’s finished with them (at least in the car), she puts them on Abe (or in his carseat) and says “Abe holdin’ my glasses.”

    Love you both,
    Trish
