Covent Garden Piazza

Pj, Trudy and I walked around Covent Garden to do some last minute shopping tonight. Here we are inside the winter wonderland of the Covent Garden Market. Filled with shops, mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, and outdoor performers. Many thanks to Trudy for hailing a cab so we didn’t have to walk home…it was freezing!

The Christmas Plant

Our dear thanks go out to Laura Bol for providing us with a beautiful Christmas plant so that we would have something to put our presents underneath.

Christmas Dinner with the Strains

The Strains graciously invited us into their home last night for a proper english christmas dinner. We began with Crackers and donned our crowns boldly! The 1st course was roasted red peppers with fennel, served with crusty bread. 2nd course was chestnut, leek and mushroom tartlets and roasted butternut squash and sage risotto with pine nuts, 3rd course was Homemade Christmas pudding with choice of vanilla custard, soy custard or double cream. Sheena and David outdid themselves and even delivered a meal that was vegetarian. (The Christmas Goose was quite sad!)

Christmas Pudding on Fire

David Strain with a shot of rum in one hand, match in the other and a flaming Christmas Pudding underneath. This photo was our 2nd or 3rd shot I’m pretty sure.

Doctor Who Window Display

One of the many fantastical window displays at Fortnum&Masons(or possibly Hamley’s sheena says). John Beeler and Matt Hale eat your heart out!

Fortnum & Mason

Pj and Trudy spent some time at Fortnum & Mason’s on Friday shopping and having tea. This wonderful old department store is famous for their window displays. This year each window has two scenes from the 12 Days of Christmas.

Oddbins, Wardour Street

Here’s a pic of my shop where I spent every waking hour for the past couple of weeks selling and drinking gobs of port, sherry and champagne! During the christmas season soho gives the whole area the sepia treatment. It’s very touching and sentimental.
